Nifty ends in positive terrain

S&P CNX --Nifty-- ended the last trading day of the week in green zone. Market made cautious start but soon gains momentum with government data showing that the country's exports jumped by 60.29 per cent to $34.45 billion in March even as the outbound shipments contracted by 7.26 per cent during the full 2020-21 fiscal to $290.63 billion. Imports too grew by 53.74 per cent to $48.38 billion in March, but dipped by 18 per cent to $389.18 billion during April-March 2020-21. Further, market traded higher, as with a view to streamlining regulations and reducing compliance burden of regulated entities, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set up the second Regulatory Review Authority (RRA 2.0). The RRA would be set up for a period of one year from May 1, 2021, unless its tenure is extended by the Reserve Bank. In the last leg of trade, index trimmed of its gains but managed to end the session in green zone, as Union minister Nitin Gadkari said that India tackled the first wave of the pandemic with great resilience and came out with strong growth projections, exuding confidence that the MSME sector will battle the second wave with same conviction and lead India to a growth trajectory. Finally, Nifty ended the session above 14600 mark.Traders were seen piling positions in Auto, IT and FMGC sector while selling was witnessed in Bank, Realty and PSU Bank sector stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Wipro, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Navin Fluorine International. On the other hand, the top losers were Canara Bank, JSW Steel and IGL. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 14700 - 16700 calls and 13,900 - 14,600 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.India Volatility Index (VIX), a gauge for market’s short term expectation of volatility decreased by 2.33% and reached 20.40. The 50 share Nifty up by 36.40 points or 0.25% to settle at 14,617.85. Nifty April 2021 futures closed at 14624.30 (LTP) on Friday, at a premium of 6.45 points over spot closing of 14617.85, while Nifty May 2021 futures ended at 14670.90 (LTP), at a premium of 53.05 points over spot closing. Nifty April futures saw an addition of 13,464 units, taking the total open interest (Contracts) to 1,59,702 units. The near month derivatives contract will expire on April 29, 2021 (Provisional).From the most active contracts, Wipro April 2021 futures traded at a premium of 0.50 points at 469.95 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 469.45. The numbers of contracts traded were 37,529 (Provisional).Reliance Industries April 2021 futures traded at a premium of 6.20 points at 1935.20 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 1929.00. The numbers of contracts traded were 26,665 (Provisional).HDFC Bank April 2021 futures traded at a premium of 2.45 points at 1433.35 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 1430.90. The numbers of contracts traded were 20,707 (Provisional).Infosys April 2021 futures traded at a premium of 1.50 points at 1349.60 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 1348.10. The numbers of contracts traded were 20,222 (Provisional).ICICI Bank April 2021 futures traded at a premium of 2.25 points at 567.30 (LTP) compared with spot closing of 565.05. The numbers of contracts traded were 19,696 (Provisional).Among, Nifty calls, 15000 SP from the April month expiry was the most active call with an addition of 160 units open interests. Among Nifty puts, 14000 SP from the April month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 409 units open interests. The maximum OI outstanding for Calls was at 15000 SP (33,616 units) and that for Puts was at 14000 SP (50,745 units). The respective Support and Resistance levels of Nifty are: Resistance 14,690.70 -- Pivot Point 14,624.85 -- Support -- 14,552.00.The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) finally stood at (1.38) for April month contract. The top five scrips with highest PCR on Wipro (1.13), Bajaj Finserv (1.08), Hindalco Industries (1.04), Sbi Life Insurance Company (1.03) and Indigo (1.01).Among most active underlying, Wipro witnessed an addition of 1,758 units of Open Interest in the April month futures contract followed Adani Ports witnessed an addition of 1,163 units of Open Interest in the April month futures contract, Tata Motors witnessed an addition of 50 units of Open Interest in the April month futures contract, Tata Steel witnessed a contraction of 97 units of Open Interest in the April month futures contract and Adani Enterprises witnessed an addition of 295 units of Open Interest in the April month futures contract (Provisional).
